New Page – Tzatziki recipe

My sister sent me a recipe for the Greek dipping sauce tzatziki, which I added to my recipes page. The recipe calls for Greek yogurt, which is thicker than the kind one would normally see in a typical grocery store. I happened to find some in Kroger the other day, which reminded me that I need to bug my sister for the recipe.

Yesterday I decided to grill a marinated boneless leg of lamb I bought on sale awhile ago and was sitting in my freezer. I basically prepared it as I do on my roast lamb recipe and let it marinade for a few hours in the refrigerator. I fired up the Weber grill and banked the coals to cook the lamb on high indirect heat. Afterward I sliced it up and served it with pita bread accompanied by the aforementioned tzatziki sauce and some onions and tomatoes.

New page – Orthodox Churches in Indianapolis

IĀ  added a new page to this website: Orthodox Churches in Indianapolis. I used this page partly to learnĀ  how to create a custom map with google maps and embed it in a webpage. Initially I intended to make the page to HTML 4.01 strict standards. However, google supplies code to embed the page using the IFRAME element, which is deprecated for strict doctypes. (The embedded code also seems to throw some validation errors, but that’s a rant for another day). I played around for awhile trying to convert it to an OBJECT element, but that turned out to be more trouble than it was worth; moreover, OBJECT does not play very nice with Internet Explorer (or perhaps vice versa), so eventually I gave up and used a transitional doctype, thinking that usability might be more important than purity of code.

New homepage template

I’ve decided to try using WordPress to manage the content of my homepage. This also gives me the ability to add blog posts to the front page.
